I was a graduate of Texas Western in 1966 and attended the school for four years prior
Don Haskins ( "Bear"), the basketball coach
Team. Of course, Coach Haskins came to TWC built in 1961 and his team

1965-66 and remind each as if it were yesterday. I

games played in the NCAA tournament. Despite the

40 years. It is much more than a basketball story, it's a story about

leadership and the determination of a great coach and human being.
The act was excellent, especially Josh Lucas' performance as "
Bear." His performance was in the nail. The young actors who play the
Team were pending. The first show tensions between the black and
White players in the movie does not exist according to the actual players
that team. The book "Glory Road" is a must read, because it tells
told the true story of "The Bear", Don Haskins, himself.
David Lattin also recommend the book "Slam Dunk Gloria." Producers
should have shown real-life characters, including coach Haskins,
Pat Riley, and some of the real players in early 1966 appropriations,

Like the Matrix and many other great films, I, Robot is based in
Philosophy, in his case, the question of epistemology (the study of knowledge

When I was growing up, one of my favorite authors was Isaac Asimov. I
He loved his books and his ideas about robots. The man was a genius in the

You have heard saying that "you can not see the forest for the trees", right? It
It refers to someone who arrives so caught up in details, which
miss the big picture. Reading further comments on IMDb about "Born on the Fourth
From July," I believe that people have the problem with this movie. So many
People seem to be a day to talk about Vietnam, the war, Nixon, America,
communism and hippies, who totally ignore Ron Kovic.
Ron Kovic is the center of this film. In "Platoon", the war was the center, and
The central character (Charlie Sheen's Chris Taylor) is no more than a POV
character through whose eyes we see the war. Not so in "Born on the Fourth of July
." Vietnam is the scenario, the context and background. But
Ron Kovic is the story.
Oliver Stone really understood a character arc. See Kovic's life,
Where begins, where it ends. The film is the journey, how he got from A to B.
It is a dramatization of a life, as opposed to real life, but
still rings true. It feels true. It reaches a level of artistic truth,
Even if some truths are literally ignored, distorted or reorganized.
That is what Stone is trying to do. Those who quibble about the facts miss
Point. (This is an issue that I will take again when reviewing some of
Stone of other films, such as the stone is constantly being bashed for historical
Inaccuracies.) Connections from one point to the next admirable job
And progression is totally credible, which is enough for such a feat
A dramatic change in attitude (compare to "American History X", where the main

In any case, what impresses me of this movie is the honesty and respect with

political opinion, but the argument in this film is presented in a light

history. This film is not anywhere near as didactic as some people want

A final note: When people call bristled that this is an anti-war film. That
actually decreases, in my opinion. It is much more than that. Not only
saying that war is brutal, vicious and horrible.
Is saying something much more specific about a particular war, and about the effect of the war in a specific
man.
I avoided this when it came out in 1989 (1978) and
not want to revisit the topic of sexual dysfunction and paraplegic
Frustration. Also, we do not want to reprise the bloody horror of our
Participation in the Vietnam War I knew that Oliver Stone would
Serve. And Tom Cruise as Ron Kovic? I simply do not think it would
Labour.
Well, my prejudices were wrong.
First, for those who think that Tom Cruise is more than just another pretty boy

I just saw this movie on pay-per-view, and I thought it was charming.
Pierce Brosnan does a good job. So nice to see he really has a chance to
