Many people think that I love the "Charlie's Angels" films
because I think they're "so bad, are good," when in reality it is not true. Turning
the contrary, I think they are smart enough (especially in the precise form
them
constant references to pop culture smart and sincere forms). And yes,
that are totally ridiculous and unrealistic and ridiculous, but what I like about
that it's completely intentional (which is what most people do not receive
and is so obvious to me).
"Torque", moreover, is a perfect example of a film that is really
so bad, is good. Or at least enjoyable in a surreal, kind of crazy
way. This film seriously
not have a brain in his head.
In every sense a B-movie, more resembles those happily operating
low-budget films that Roger Corman and Russ Meyer did decades ago, when biker gangs made
battle with its SwitchBlade-toting their girlfriends
side. And it is so silly as it sounds, which could be
good news or bad news for you, depending on what kind of filmgoer you are.
Personally, I knew it was garbage all the time, but still had a blast watching
. The story is ridiculous and the dialogue is ridiculous (
these characters exist in a world where a girl when he says "Nice bike," the boy said
"Nice a **" and he likes). But I can not fully resist a film in which two
improbably beautiful biker chicks looking at each other on their bicycles in a
photogenic, alley desert (both face enormous product logos
Extra giggle), one of them yells "Bring it on, b ****!", other
whips
a SwitchBlade, and then they charge! As a classic B-movie enthusiast, I
offer no apologies for having fun watching a scene like that.
It's really not all bad, either. Martin Henderson and Monet Mazur have
some really nice and tender scenes together, and large, color conscious
cinematography makes everything look so bright you can eat outside the
screen.
Jamie Pressly is an absolute hoot as the evil biker chick, and Adam Scott
some results laughs as an arrogant FBI agent.
In addition, several of the action scenes are quite surprising, once you get over
the idea that this movie is obviously not taking place on planet Earth But rather
some video games or a universe of 12 years of sleep.
Ice Cube want to be outside doing the kind of good films that used fazer (
as "Three Kings", the original "Friday", "Boyz N The Hood" "
Higher Learning",
"Ghosts of Mars "...), but he provides some laughs as one of the heavies
here. I wish he had changed his expression at least once, however.
You know where the ground his teeth and curls his upper lip so that he
seem to hate their courage and the steam is about to come out of their ears?
That is what has throughout the film.
Basically, I am not going to fight for this movie or anything else, I realize that is
basically worthless. Let me just say that made it easier for me to close off
my brain and I liked, and perhaps you, too. Have
"Torque" 3 stars in the same way I would like to "SwitchBlade Sisters"
3 stars. They are terrible and affected, but a hell of a lot of fun, and that
account for something, right?
Crashed warning * * * * could damage warning
I have seen "Torque" in a desert near the cinema. I was in the second row
and two of 13 or 14-year-old boys in the back row. We were the target audience
.
"Torque" hit a Bullseye for us. Therefore, if you're not a teenager or a B-movie
crazy, avoid "Torque". If fit into the public profile of an insane
Shake cyclist, see this movie immediately.
"Torque" is hilarious. I was cheering through the whole thing. Not only is
tricks that I had to go. It was also the dialogue. When the main
rider tries to make with his girlfriend ditch he said, "I
wrote letters. "She said," I fires. "I just had a laughing fit
written
that.
Ice Cube shows how the angriest cyclist in the world. The
has a permanent scowl on his face. Just looking at him had me laughing. All
macho elements of a cyclist film prides itself on the screen. The hard rock is crank up
as motorists did battle. There was Kid Rock and Static-X. This is a hard rock
party. I had a good time.
Speaking of Static-X, the last scene with super hot Jaime Pressly has
"Push
" blasting away as it does battle with major blonde cyclist. Ah Jaime.
What is special effect you. Good Lord, you can squeeze into a pair of leather pants
. Gotta love it.
